Vacancies:
• Assistant Commandant (Works) – 19 Posts (UR – 12, OBC – 05, SC – 01, ST – 01)
• Assistant Commandant (Electrical) – 07 Posts (UR – 05, OBC – 01, SC – 01)
Note: Number of vacant posts may increased or decreased as per requirements
Pay Scale: Rs.15600 to 39100 + Rs.5400 Grade Pay
Age limit: Minimum age 21 years and Maximum should not be more than 26 years as on Closing date i.e. within 30 days from publication date of this notification. Relaxation in upper age limit for SC / ST and Govt. Servants is 5 years and for OBC is 3 years as per govt. rule
Educational Qualifications:
1. Assistant Commandant (Work) – Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute
2. Assistant Commandant (Electrical) – Candidates should have Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institute / University
Physical Standard:
Only those candidates are eligible for the posts who fulfill all requirements as follows;
• Height – Minimum – 165 Cm for Men and 157 Cm for Women Candidates
• Chest – 81 Cm with Expansion of 5 Cm for Male Candidates and it is not applicable for Female Candidates
• Weight – 50 Kg for Male and Not less than 46 Kg for Female Candidates
Medical Standard:
Distant Vision (Corrected Vision) should be 6/6 and 6/9 or 6/12 and 6/9. Those Candidates will not eligible for the posts who are suffering from High Colour Vision. Candidates must be mentally as well as physically fit
Selection Procedure:
Selection of the candidates will be made through Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Interview and Medical Examination:
• Written Test: This Test Comprises Two Papers; Paper-I which will be Objective Types of 2 Hours and Paper-II (Conventional Types) of 2 Hours. Paper-I carries 200 Marks while Paper-II carries 100 Marks
• PET, PM, Documentation: Standing Broad Jump – 4 to 6 inch, Run – 12 Minute, Clear the ditch – 6 feet, Jump & reach – 7 feet for Male candidates and Standing Broad Jump – 4 to 6 Inch, One Mile Rune – 12 Minutes, Clear the Ditch – 4 Feet, Jump & reach – 6 for Female Candidates
• Interview, Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the all above tests will be called for Interview and Medical Test. Date for Interview and Medical Test will be announced Later
Application Fee:
Candidates are required to pay application fees of Rs.100 in the shape of Bank Draft. Candidates who belong to SC / ST are not required to pay application fees. Once paid application fees will not be refunded
How to apply:
1. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria may apply in prescribed application format which is given in the Detailed Advertisement
2. Candidates should fill up the application with required details and send it with Three Photographs, one each should be pasted on the application form and Admit card and one to be kept in record.
3. A Duly filled application in all respect should be sent with copies of supporting documents and 2 self addressed envelop of 25*12 Cm affixed a postal stamp of Rs.27 on each, to the Concerned address which has been given in the Advertisement Details within 30 days from publication date of this notification
4. Cover of the Application must be super scribed with the words “Application for the post of Assistant Commandant (Works / Electrical) in BSF”
5. Application without photograph, Signature and required qualifications will not be accepted
